About Us
Welcome to the Glasgow Gallery of Photography,
The gallery's mission statement is to advance the arts, heritage and cultural sector through exhibitions of photographic works as a means for artistic, community and personal expression. Also by providing affordable and relevant workshops and activities rooted in teaching and exhibiting photography.
To promote equality and diversity by providing facilities and services with the aim of benefitting the diverse range of our returning and anticipated participants, and providing agency to groups who are underrepresented.
To advance citizenship and community development by promoting the production and appreciation of photography to communities in Glasgow and wider Scotland, as well as international participants. Also by providing the Glasgow Gallery of Photography as a space that will deliver community resources and programmes of educational events, including our annual end of year exhibition.
The Glasgow Gallery of Photography is a sanctuary for the art of capturing moments and emotions through the lens. Nestled in the heart of Scotland's vibrant city of Glasgow, our gallery celebrates the rich tapestry of photographic creativity from local talents to global visionaries. With every step you take within these walls, you embark on a visual voyage that spans genres and perspectives.
From the timeless elegance of black and white classics to the vibrant hues of contemporary digital mastery, our collection showcases the ever-evolving language of photography.
Our mission is to immerse you in the stories, cultures, and emotions that these images convey, inviting you to see the world through the eyes of the photographers who freeze time in their frames.
Whether you are a seasoned photography enthusiast, a budding artist, or simply an admirer of the visual arts, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography welcomes you to explore, connect, and find inspiration in the world of images that surround us.
As you traverse our exhibitions, you will witness the power of a single click to capture the essence of a moment, unveil hidden truths, and ignite a thousand emotions.
We invite you to experience the magic of photography with us and let the images within our walls and website walls stir your imagination and awaken your senses.
