At The Glasgow Gallery of Photography, we are committed to sharing our exhibitions and artists’ works with audiences across the globe. However, we are acutely aware of the current challenges surrounding postage from the UK to the EU and the US.
Due to a combination of rising costs, tariffs, and VAT, sending parcels internationally has become increasingly unsustainable even since February the rise in cost has been eye watering, and is extremely volatile. It has been difficult trying to keep a handle on the ever changing postal costs. The financial burden on the gallery—and on our artists—has reached a point where it is no longer feasible for anyone absorb these costs. The postage is now higher than the vast majority of books and zines that we sell. Beyond the expense, the time it now takes for items to reach their destinations has also increased significantly, causing frustration and delays for everyone involved.
We want to assure our photographers and supporters that we are actively working to address these challenges. The gallery is currently partnering with a new courier service DPD that promises more efficient handling and, importantly, reduced costs for shipments to both the EU and the US.
We understand the impact this has had on our community and are committed to making international deliveries as smooth and affordable as possible. We appreciate your patience and support as we implement these improvements, and we will continue to keep you updated on when this is in place and we can adjust our pricing to a more managable level.
